Travel to Nairobi and feed the lofty wildlife with a visit to the Giraffe Centre. Full day game drive in Amboseli National Park. Along the Tanzanian border, the park derives its name from the Masai word “Empusel”, meaning salty, dusty place. Declared a national park to protect its unique and fragile ecosystem, the Amboseli National Park offers landscapes of remarkable contrasts: arid zones alongside the lush oases of the swamps. A particular feature of Amboseli is the possibility to take picture postcard photos of elephants against the backdrop of Kilimanjaro. The park is home to numerous animals (giraffe, wildebeest, antelope, buffalo, lion, cheetah, leopard and hyena ...) as well as 400 species of birds (pelicans, kingfishers, crakes, hamerkop and 47 types of raptor). Travel to Tsavo National Park. Picnic lunch on the way. Game drive in Tsavo East National Park. Its dry and flat landscapes, excepting the Yatta Plateau (one of the longest lava flows in the world, after the Ol Donyo Sabuk volcano), showcase a rich wildlife. Grant’s gazelle, zebra, impala, Coke’s hartebeest, giraffe and lion are easily observable. Elephant and buffalo are common and often in large herds of several hundred animals. (B, L, D)
